Safe and Efficient Removal of Failed Implants with FR Kit

Prof. Yongkwan Choi (Korea)

Pre-Op
  • Due to peri-implantitis at site #22 and malpositioning of implants in the maxillary anterior region (sites #11, #12, #21, and #22), implant removal using a Fixture Remover was planned, followed by implant replacement at #12 and #22.

Peri-implantitis of #12 and #22

Fixture Removal
  • Neobiotech FR(Fixture Removal) Kit

Fixture Removal Kit (FR Kit)
Procedures

  • Removing prosthesis upper part

  • Connecting Fixture Remover Screw (FR Kit)

  • Removing the implants using Fixture Remover (FR Kit)

  • Removed existing implants

Implant Placement and Provisional Restoration
  • CMI IS-II active implants were placed buccally at #12 and #22 with intentional buccal exposure, considering occlusion and esthetics.

  • Extensive guided bone regeneration (GBR) was performed to restore the alveolar defect and ensure proper implant positioning. The procedure utilized allograft bone, xenograft, and an absorbable barrier membrane.

  • Suture

  • Making provisional screw retained restorations by using temporary abutments

Final Restoration
  • SCRP type of final restoration (labial view / lingual view)

  • Panoramic radiograph of the final delivery of the prosthesis

Follow-Up
  • 6-year follow-up panoramic radiograph, showing no evident bone loss
